NDA : –   National Defence Academy entrance exam   Do you like adventures and challenges? Do you like to be away from home and at some mountain ? Do you have JOSH to serve the nation with all your force ?  YES! YES!! Then you can think of joining the defence services . The best way of becoming officer in forces is through National Defence academy (NDA).   NDA is located in Maharashtra in  PUNE  near Khadakwasla . It is the academy established by Indian government for the training of  cadets to become officers of  Indian Military forces . The cadets are made physically and mentally tough to face all the challenges by training them in the academy .   Be-prepared :- Every student has to take the NDA entrance exam first time in August when he is in 12th . If he clears this exam he can join NDA immediately After his 12th where he completes his graduation . That is why a student should cover his 11th and 12th study before he enters into 12th . Hence he should start the preparation immediately after 10th std exam . Maths and English are the important subjects of this exam. You can use the vacation after 10th exam to master these subjects , to increase your vocabulary , to increase your speed of problem solving . This will not only increase your efficiency but also increase your confidence . For the 11th admission :-  There are two points ; to be taken into consideration 1>You have to select the stream which will help to achieve NDA target and the alternate target which you will like to have if you could not be in NDA 2> subjects so that your 11th & 12th study  , NDA study will become same ,save time and efforts In general science stream is the solution of both of these thoughts . To become fighter pilot  or  navy officer you have to study Maths and Physics in 11th and 12th which is part of science stream  For Army you can choose any stream . Written exam for NDA has two papers  1> Maths  300 marks – 120 question ( in general 11th and 12th all syllabus )  2> General ability paper 600 marks – 150 question  Stream Army Navy Air force Subjects ( Compulsory  subjects ) Science Yes Yes YES Maths , Physics , Chemistry , Geography / Biology , English , foreign language Arts Yes No No Maths  , English , History , Geography , psychology , Foreign language  commerce Yes No No Maths , English , Economics , Accounts , foreign language   Thus with these choices preparation of 11th 12th and NDA becomes same . Hence it reduces the strain of study ; saves time and energy . About the exam :-  The exam has four stages  1>  written exam         2> Interview (SSB)           3> Medical  exam         4> Merit list  Written exam  has two papers as given above .Each paper is of 2and half hour .Both the papers are on the same day .  Maths paper from 10.00 am to 12.30pm  and GAT  paper from 2.00 pm to  4.30  pm . Both the papers are objective type . There is negative marking for wrong answers . The time for solving the paper is not ample enough hence you must study the theory very well ,develop the time saving ideas for solving the paper . practice the papers and decide your strategy to solve the paper  There is no fixed passing criteria or as such .you must be in first 10,000  candidates to get SSB call   Interview is of seven days . First two days screening test . Students failed in it are send back on the same day . The passed students follow the main interview for remaining five days . The candidates recommended  by service selection board  based upon there performances in the interview undergo the next two stages Screening and interview have psychological tests , ground tests , personal interview etc. How to apply The NDA entrance exam is conducted twice a year –  April  and august . You can apply for exam if you fit in the criteria . This criteria is published in their advertisement in Employment news .
